Kenilworth

Kenilworth homes, renovated with care and one point of contact.

Kenilworth's historic, architect-designed homes call for a team that plans carefully and builds cleanly. Ascendesign brings design and build together — with crews we've already vetted.

Building here

Housing stock: Kenilworth is a small lakefront village on the North Shore, laid out in the 1890s by founder Joseph Sears as a planned community. Many of its homes are architect-designed, including a number by George W. Maher. [CONFIRM details]

Typical projects: Kitchen and bath remodels, whole-home renovations, basement finishing, integrated technology. [PLACEHOLDER — confirm]

Permitting: Permits here are issued by the Village of Kenilworth Building/Planning Division, Village Hall, 419 Richmond Road. The Village does not require contractor registration, but roofing, electrical and plumbing licenses must be submitted with the permit application. Construction noise and activity are limited to 7 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday–Friday and 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday, with no work on Sundays or listed holidays, and new construction or substantial renovation requires a meeting with the Police Department about site regulations before work begins. We handle permit applications and inspection scheduling as part of the project. [CONFIRM current requirements with the department before each job]

Questions we hear

What are Kenilworth's construction hours?

Kenilworth allows construction 7 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday–Friday and 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday, with no work on Sundays or listed holidays. We schedule every trade within those hours.

Who pulls the permits?

We pull the required permits for work we contract and coordinate inspections.

How do you choose the crews who work on my home?

We vet every contractor. Some jobs take 60–80 bids because many don't call back, don't show up, aren't insured, or are booked months out. We screen for insurance before anyone is put on your project.
