Permitting: Permits here are issued by the Village of Winnetka Department of Community Development, 510 Green Bay Road. Winnetka doesn't run its own contractor licensing program; it accepts State of Illinois licenses (plumbing, irrigation, roofing) and licenses from testing municipalities (electricians), which must be on file before a permit is issued. Before any permit is issued, the general contractor and any subcontractor working in the Village right-of-way must file a $25,000 License and Permit Bond.
